I am 33 years old and I’m from Gatovu. I have been with the ICCN since 1987 and at present, I care for orphaned gorillas. I am married to Annuarite and we have seven children. I look after two orphaned baby Mountain Gorillas in Goma. It was difficult at first but I continue to learn a tremendous amount about these animals and to feel very close to them. Looking after them constantly like this makes you feel like a parent. This job is a vocation.

I feel sure that the criminals who kill these animals could come one at a time and spend time with them then they would understand how splendid these creatures are and also understand that we must do whatever we must to ensure their survival. I love the park and I hope peace will return soon so that we can all get on with our jobs.
